Stress management techniques such as hypnosis, yoga, time management etc can help one cope with stress better. Also, recognizing our stress symptoms early and taking steps to manage it is the first step towards stress management’ was the advice given by the guest speaker Mrs. Rekha Johari in her informative talk “Stress Management in Day to Day Life”. |

| Sneh Milan |
|
| |
| It was truly an evening of celebration at Sahyadri on 6th December 2009. Young and old, officers and their families, experts and novices came together and participated with verve and élan in the choreographed melange of song and dances. The kaleidoscope of video snippets of past cultural evenings was a thoughtful inclusion, and was a warm curtain raiser to the items that ensued. The evening was notable for two striking aspects – the ability of the IASOWA members to translate the intention of its President to make the event inclusive; and the spirit of joy that overflowed and reached out to those who had come to partake of the bonhomie. Certainly, it would inspire the most bashful and reticent amongst us to get on the stage next time and continue the tradition. Those who sing together, and dance together, stay together. As one big family! |
| |
|
| The Sneh Milan was very well attended and appreciated. The Chief Secretary Mr. Dange enjoyed the show and appreciated the versatile performances put up by IASOWA members. Our President Mrs. Kanta Dange could not attend the function due to health reasons. |

| Enclosed with Good Wishes |
|
Time turned around is emit,
In that moment, split,
A life is made,
A light can fade.
The rhythm and rhyme of time
Can make all things sublime;
A passage to grow, to love,
Live and age,
Time can make us sage
Time, ambivalent,
Once spent,
Does not relent. |

The time has come to move on…
I would like to thank all those who made it possible for me to weave the content into this website,
Contented that we did what we could, I am certain this site will be taken to new heights.
Spin on and spread wide.
Signing off,
Best wishes,

Festive Celebration |
| |
In celebration of friendship, fellowship and the festival of lights, the IASOWA threw a pre-Divali bash on the 11th.
Since the dress code was traditional attire, there were many resplendently turned out. The President of our Association came in the set-mundu of her native Kerala and while one hoped to see the President of IASOA similarly attired in veshti-jhuba, he was gracefully donned in silk kurta and churidar.
Music played, feet tapped, grace flowed. Games were sportingly played by all. To add flavour and spice, there were teams made on gender. The men proved to be winners all the way, winning both the games. They even beat the women at their own game - a rangoli design!
The food, camaraderie and the venue all added to the sparkle of this gathering.
True to the spirit of Divali, one let the inner lights turn on and the glow from within cast brightness all around.
Keeping noise levels to minimal decibel, only fireworks of light display were used.
The general consensus was that it was an enjoyable, well organised gathering of young, old, senior, junior, retired, serving, bonding in a light-hearted, pleasant, heart warming way. |

Inauguration of the renovated VIP Nursing Home at St George Hospital – An excellent initiative taken up by our Association was the upgrading and renovation of the Nursing Home at St. George Hospital. Keeping the heritage structure intact while renovations were carried out was no mean feat. It has been achieved. It was justifiably a proud moment when Chief Secretary Mr Johny Joseph congratulated the President and members for nurturing such a fine project. For the better health and welfare of all its members and families, we now have a comfortable and well equipped Nursing Home. |

| What better way to spend quality time and foster harmony than have an evening of song, dance and music. Sneh-Milan was organised one Sunday evening in February for families of the Association. Members and their children put their best foot forward and dancing shoes on... From classical, folk dance to the Bollywood remix numbers, they did it all. The grand finale was audience participation ably led by the Chief Secretary and other Officers, retired and serving, along with spouses and off-spring to spice up the evening. | Inter Services Interaction |
 |
| Come September, and the 'Queen of drapes', Shaina NC, did a show for our Association. It was not merely sartorial glamour and six yard magic but a celebration of togetherness.
The hall was brimming with glitter, glam and lovely ladies from other Services' Associations as well as the Diplomatic Corps.
The models were our very own members and the photographs display professionals and homemakers transforming the stage with sparkle and style. Time and logistical constraints could not have all members on stage. There is always a next time... |
